Homebase and Outpost Marketing

January 15, 2010 by Arthur Charles Van Wyk · 1 Comment

This past Monday I had a very good meeting with Mike Saunders at Mugg & Bean in Musgrave Centre here in Durban. This was the first step toward unifying webheads across KZN, a project Mike has since started pushing hard on Twitter. During our meeting Mike informed me that he’s read my blogpost on “How to do Twitter” and let me know that there’s something that I’m not telling readers. This especially in relation to how I grew my follower base.

My response to him was some vague twist about signing up to an autofollow app site via LinkedIn (which is true), however I believe that there’s a lot more to getting people to follow you than just signing up on an autofollow app site.

I believe in the video above popular blogging guru Darren Rowse explains perfectly what I have been doing for quite some time to build my social media presence. I have just never thought about actually putting it in words and “terming” it.

So there.. YESS.. I’ve been doing Homebase and Outpost Marketing all this time..
